The first draft of the revision of the BREF Surface Treatment of Metals and Plastics (STM) has been published. The full document (D1 (02.2025)) can be found here.
During the 18th meeting of the IED Article 13 Forum on May 22, 2023, the European Commission announced that the revision of the BREF STM will include additional elements resulting from the revision of the IED. Consequently, the BAT conclusions included in D1 are aligned with this revision.
Members of the Technical Working Group (TWG) can submit their comments to EU-BRITE until May 9, 2025. In close collaboration with the GOP department, the BAT Knowledge Centre is preparing comments on behalf of Belgium. In this context, consultations are being organized with the relevant environmental administrations and sector representatives.
