First draft of the BBT study on underground manure storage delivered to the guidance committee

The first draft of the BAT study on underground manure storage has been submitted to the guidance committee for review. The comments received (deadline dd. 17/09/25) will be discussed during the next consultation with the guidance committee.

Draft 1 describes the environmental-legal aspects, processes and global environmental impact. It also contains an inventory of environmentally friendly techniques (construction, control, maintenance, repair) for livestock farms and manure processors with underground manure storage (both new and existing manure pits) to prevent or limit emissions to soil and groundwater as well as infiltration of groundwater.
