Final report of the BAT study for the treatment of asbestos-contaminated soil and rubble available

The final report of the BAT study for the treatment of asbestos-contaminated soil and rubble is available online in Dutch.
This BBT study focuses on the remediation of asbestos-contaminated soil or rubble, environmental protection measures during the remediation of such materials in permitted soil remediation centers (CGR), the transport of asbestos-containing streams, and on-site activities. It describes the sources of asbestos contamination in soil and rubble, as well as the relevant variables for remediation, such as asbestos concentration, bonding of asbestos, residue content, and asbestos-containing fractions. Based on the collected information on environmentally friendly measures, proposals are made for the adjustment or extension of current Flemish regulations, along with recommendations for further research related to the treatment of asbestos-contaminated soil and rubble.
