The following table presents an overview of VITO's BAT notes and the period of the last update. These documents contain BAT conclusions, propose sectoral emission limit values and give advice on necessary amendments to the VLAREM legislation , concerning permit writing. They are made up for sectors that have a signifcant environmental impact in the Flemish region. The selection of the sectors is based on several aspects, such as size and importance of the sector, and environmental impact in the Flemish region. Complementarity with the European BREFs is also taken into account. Since the first Flemish BAT documents are now 7 years old, the revision of the earliest studies is in progress.
