Final draft of the revision of the BAT study for swimming pools is available.
The final draft of the BAT study for swimming pools is available online in Dutch.
This BAT study explores ways to reduce high water and energy consumption, as well as emissions of chlorinated compounds in wastewater. The primary focus is on minimizing disinfection by-products. Additionally, advanced treatment techniques to complement conventional filtration processes are evaluated. Finally, strategies for water and energy savings, combined with good housekeeping practices, are outlined. Based on the gathered information, recommendations for VLAREM environmental regulations are proposed, including key considerations relevant to the sector
Members of the technical working group and the BAT/EMIS/EP working group have until October 17, 2024, to provide their approval of the final draft or submit any final comments. The BAT study will then be supplemented with any comments and the final report will be published on EMIS. Finally, this study will also appear in interactive form on iBBT and on the BAT database.
