The final draft of the BAT study for limiting PFAS air emissions is available online in Dutch.
This cross-sector study makes an inventory of the main sectors and activities where PFAS emissions to air are possible, and collects information on the available techniques to prevent or limit PFAS air emissions. Based on the collected information, recommendations for environmental conditions in VLAREM en environmental permits are put forward, including a temporary set of norms and assessment criteria for air emissions. Next to that there are recommendations for further research linked to PFAS air emissions.
Members of the technical working group and the BAT/EMIS/EP working group have until January 15, 2024, to provide their approval of the final draft or submit any final comments. The BAT study will then be supplemented with any comments and the final report will be published on EMIS. Finally, this study will also appear in interactive form on iBBT and on the BAT database.
